Evo 8 to 9 engine swap

Before I spend the $$, I was wondering if all you need to make a Evo 9 engine run in an 8 is the engine wiring harness and ecu?

I think you would need a 9 ecu to control the mivec.

mechanically, it's a bolt in affair, nothing out of the ordinary.

in addition to the long block, you need the engine bay wiring harness and ECU for the upgrade.

Well griffeyr, I want to do this cause my current engine needs an overhaul.. so I figured well im rebuilding that engine (probably going to build it into a 2.3L) I might as well have another that I can use well im building the other.

And how much did you want for that ECU and wiring harness?

Im also interested in doing the swap as I need to rebuild my 2Ltr Evo 8 motor anyways, so why not get a 2.2L mivec longblock and drop it in? =D

Although, I would want to run the standard EVO 9 Ecu..

How much would I be looking at the harness + ECU?

I have found on ebay used 9 engines for around 4000 and complete wiring harness including the ECU for 500. So anywhere between 4-6K used. Brand new I found 9 engines at lancershop.com for 6000 and the harness and ecu for 1700.
