Cam Help - What to get - Evo 9 MIVEC

I'll try and make this real simple. I currently have a set of Cosworth M2 MIVEC cams along with my FP Red/BR Stage 3 Engine/E-85 setup. Car made 486 whp & 462 ft/lbs on BR Mustang Dyno.

I am looking for maybe something more aggressive in hopes of more power. What do you think or suggest and why? Or do you think I should stick with the Cosworth M2's?

Thanks!

Right I understand. I am looking at possibly a set of JUN's which i feel will give me a similar power band accross the board and more peak power. Or the FP 5R's which I know will loose some low end but should scream up top. I don't know much about the M3's.

The m3s the intake cam is 280 degrees 11.6 lift and the exhaust cam 272 / 11.

Definitely more power up top. Buschur liked them too.

You already said the 5R's, those are supposed to be great up top.

Or the GSC S2's, not sure if they make anything more agressive but those gain up top too.

I though I read on here the Juns and the fp4rs for the mivec cars where very very simliar. The FP5r might lose to much down low to be worth it, Idk though it would be cool to see. I run the fp4rs in my car and it def screams up top with great midrange.

GSC S2 vs Cosworth M3, Red @ 31psi, E85:

If both runs had been started at 2400 the torque diffference would have been even more noticeable. As it is you can see substantial gains in both torque and hp across the board.

I'm going to go out on a limb and make a captain obvious statement...but the Cossie M3 cams made more power correct?

Since you already have Cossies in the car I would just swap the one cam for the bigger M3 brother. I have M3's and have had great luck making great power. 462/492 tq stock turbo and 631/535 tq on the RED. If you want the best, biggest, and most aggressive cam go with the FP5R's. But caution needs to be taken on clearances. I have a set I will be installing at some point, but just haven't had enough time...

I was under the impression you already had the FP5R's in your car. I'll make some calls tomorrow and see how cheap I can get just the one cam I need. Hopefully all issues with them breaking, etc...have been resolved.

The GSC cams have had a redesign. I like the M3's, but I'd rather have 1 piece camshafts rather than the two piece counter parts. :P

Negative, the S2s made more power and have a better overall powerband. The M3s are really peaky and didnt make as much. To be clear these are the 278/274 S2s with the redesign.
