Update: 7/25/09. Saturday, went over to Mellon's to install the 1200cc injectors. Install went smooth as silk and we took a picture for comparision:

As far as the tuning was concerned, we got the injectors dialed in to +/- 3 on the low and mid fuel trims so the ecu is barely doing any short term (real time) corrections. Once we went WOT, we quickly determined that the AFR was dead on until 5500RPM + where we previously had to add lots of fuel to compensate for the walbro and stock injectors not being able to keep up with demand. After shaving off some excess fuel at high rpm we were able to get the AFR back to perfect. Peak IDC was 98% and now it's only 51% which gives the car much more room for growth as I add cams/fmic/turbo etc... in the future. car idle's and drives great.

Two step is set at 6000 with the stock clutch. Holds great with just a touch of slip, it was as close to almost dumping the clutch.

so does the injectors at this point (without IC/Cams/etc install) give you more power?? I would assume its more of a supporting mod.

Yeah definitely a supporting mod. Hp/tq number before were 318/316, and now they're 313/314. It was pretty hot yesterday ~93 deg so the minor loss is probably due to the temperature.

I would love to modify a evo with someone like mellon around, never have to worry about any ecu problems bc he can tune past them or just delete them....ahhh that would be so bomb to have someone like him around

once again, why no 02 dump? many of mellon's stock ecu budget customers will be doing the 02 dump, it would be nice to see the gains on here.

1200cc will be about what at most possible with e85, like 450whp(just guessing)but 1200's aren't really big at all these days..unless they are bosch

what turbo are you going to run kevin? manifold? twin/single scroll?

what fuel pumps are you guys going to run? mellon, can you tell me what the max of a wally pump with another wally inline? vs a buschur double pumper?

I haven't done that test but I can tell you this much from my own car:

single walbro + PTE 1000cc injectors maxes out at about 500awhp on 93 octane
buschur twin walbro + PTE 1000cc injectors maxes out at about 700awhp on Q16

I'm going to disable the pressure reliefs on the twin walbros and install the buschur fuel rail to see if I can go further without upgrading the injectors again.

I wonder how much crappy gas mileage you get out of it.

I stay busy enough with EVOs that I don't have to take on other brands
