*** TAK33r / TAK330r CBRD Turbo Owners ***

Greetings from Iraq, fellahs! Things here are going as well as realistically possible. Bad guys doing bad things, not to mention how hot it has been. Later this week, it is believed to be somewhere around the 117 degree range.

A little history...

Over the past four months I've been doing some extensive reading and research on the turbo (weapon) of choice once I get home. I have bounced between everything from the BBK Full to the HTA35r. Looking at the prices (along with the required associated parts) there really isn't too much of a difference IMO and it all boils down to the needs and/or goals for each set up. Just when I thought () I had things figured out, I bumped (by accident) into the TAK33r and TAK330r turbo variants that CBRD produces. I've exchanged a few PMs with a guy that had it listed in his signature block but nothing too tangible to the point where I feel comfortable with spending $3.5K by word of mouth that a particular turbo would satisfy my goals and/or desires for my car.

And what are my goals and/or desires for my car? At the end of the day, I want 500whp with as close to 500wtq (peak before 5K RPM) as possible. I'd prefer to have this done on a Mustang dyno. This is what I want and I'm not going down the intellectual debate road as to why this or why that.

I've seen this achieved and nearly achieved on several set ups (Mustang dyno).

HTA35r, 33PSI, alky (587whp/434wtq)
HTA35r, 29PSI, pump (532whp/385wtq)
HTA76r, 31PSI, pump (523whp/462wtq)
FP Red, 36PSI, meth (550whp/537wtq)

Again, I'm not looking at trying to judge one turbo against another as opposed to simply showing that it is possible with the correct supporting mods, tune, etc. Yes, I also know that the listed turbos aren't the only ones capable of making these goals/desires. Like I said, I have a list that I personally am interested in as potential turbos of choice.

And now to the CBRD variant turbos...

I have been told (via PM) that the TAK33r has a quicker spool up than both the HTA76r and HTA35r respectively. However, the HTA35r (to no surprise) will make slightly more topend. I'm not sure how the TAK330r compares or fits into this equation.

Again, I'm waving the white flag and not trying to put one turbo against another. I've searched and combed through the website and there are only slight mentions of either the TAK33r or TAK330r (all of which were positive).

I'm basically trying to get some dyno charts sent to me in order to analyze and compare how these two particular turbos match up against the others I have in mind before I make a $3.5K purchase. My email address is: levar.wilson@us.army.mil as I cannot view pictures here in Iraq no other way. I appreciate the assistance and feedback. Again, I'm only trying to do some comparisons but I thought I needed to give you fellahs a bit of history. Thanks.

Awesome. That would give me some serious analysis to do here. I really hope that it will find a home as my weapon of choice. I'll be standing by as if there is anything else to do here in Iraq when the "bad guys" are sleeping.

I would like to take a look at the graph as well. We sell all of the CBRD with our turbo kits, if anyone is interested. Chad does great work!

Thanks,

Michael

Fellahs. It is nice to sign-on from Iraq to see the interest in these turbos. Hopefully, the findings will lead to an even more difficult decision as there are plenty-a-nice turbos on the market these days. I really appreciate the feedback and for those of you that have sent images/graphs via email get a huge thumbs up. Like I said, my network guys here are pretty tough when it comes down to blocking certain sites.

Been interested in this turbo since I first heard rumor of it.... would like to see dyno numbers, especially on a 2.3 pump vs. meth... I run a ported BBK full on my stock block, but someday on a built 2.3 I will opt for either this turbo vs. HTA35r or who knows what else will be around by then
