removing oil pan

removing oil pan

I need to put some RTv on my oil pan, is the downpipe the only thing i have to take off to get the oil pan down???

nah, you gotta take the starter off and also the turbo oil return line off also.

Do i take the whole turbo oil return line off? or do i just disconnect it from the oil pan?

Just disconnect it from the pan dude....

I cant seem to get the starter off, I took out the bolt on the bottom side and that little metal shield thing....it still wont budge, is there a bolt that I am forgetting about?

it's not too bad man.

only hard part is prying that sucker off when you get all of the oil pan bolts out.

that gasket crap is sticky and makes it hard to pry off sometimes.


also, to the OP. you need a new gasket for the turbo oil return line (the oil pan side) or that sucker will leak pretty badly when you put it all back together...Just lettin ya know

i got the starter and downpipe off, disconnected the turbo oil return line, and holy **** there are a lot of friggin oil pan bolts, only have like 3 more to unscrew, one of which is being a douche becuase there is some brass tube that is right underneath it, kinda blocks the socket wrench, but ill get it....and ill just put some RVT on the turbo oil return, there was no gasket on it when i disconnected it...but it wasnt leaking either
