KELFORD 272's
i just had my kelford 272 & springs installed and some other mods, when i start my car it runs like stock! the car is quit and it has no lope at all? i didnt get to drive the car cause it needs to be retuned but they couldnt tune it today so i have to go back tomorrow.
if these cams are so aggressive why do they sound like stock cams
for the guys running 272 kelfords w/stock turbo-injectors, do you have any lope and does your car sound quit?

... Mine cams out like crazy, with closed loop off to make the car run rich and like 10-12 deg timing, it idles pretty smooth. Also when I played with the intake cam timing plus what I mentioned above, I got it to idle even smoother.
It's kind of weird you don't notice any difference in idle, even at 1100rpm, my car only pulls about 11-12in vac. You might want to check to make sure the timing belt isn't off a tooth or something. But I have seen some evo9s with real calm idles with these cams...
Good luck with the tune!

so to my understanding you bought these cams and were hopping for a loppy idle? who cares how "aggressive" your idle sounds. what you should be worrying about is making good power so you get your monies worth.

^^^ i understand that but i didnt think its normal for my car to sound soo quit?? i know these cams get lopey even in a ix but i cant understand why it sounds like a stock running car plus it was un tuned?
i dont know if its me but my car sounds quieter then before. has this happen to anyone else (ix head)

Mine is definitely not QUIET. Never heard of them being QUIET without MIVEC to smooth it out. Matter of fact, untuned they were extremely lopey and not QUIET, until the tuned smoothed it out.

just did a 9 with kelford 272s. Once the car fully warms up and idles down to 800ish rpm, she loped out really nice. But while cold, didnt lope at all above about 1100rpm
