Compression Test

Anyone ever do a compression test before on there car? If so could you tell me what all 4 cylinders were reading! Mine were 170 for 3 of them and then one in the middle was like 162 is this bad? I know that as long as there within 10% there ok but still worries me! Car only has 46,000 miles! If you have similiar numbers or better please tell me!

you are fine.. did you do the check while the eng. was warm or cold? either way your well in spec..now if you were at 170 in 3 then 130 in one, that would be a problem

150 is kinda low looking at your mod list you should keep an eye on that and maybe drop a little oil in the cylinders and double check your compression. Unless you are running low compression pistons or a huge thick head gasket.

I think 150 is fine since all my Evos have been right around there. I think 170 is a little to high unless you have higher compression pistons in the car... as long as they are all Even (like with in 10 psi) I wouldn't worry about anything or all of them are down below like 120 psi

Evo ix are 145 and Evo VIII are 175ish.. Don't read too much into the number. As long as they are all about the same. And you want to to a compression test on a warm motor.
