Clutch issues 1,000 miles from home!
#37
Awesome, thank you, I do know how to drive and limped the car over 1,000 miles to get it home. I'm sure as hell not going to leave my car in this state though and drive it like its a broken down POS for the rest of its life. Would make daily driving, sitting in traffic, and autocross quite difficult.

I just spoke with Comp and they're willing to send out a revised replacement and cover all labor charges with MAP. These failures suck, but I definitely have to commend the company for standing behind their products and doing what it takes to make things right with their customers.

If someone removes the clutch restrictor from the slave cylinder this is more than likely to happen. Exedy recommends removing the restrictor so the clutch will not wear out prematurely and installing a clutch fork stop or a push conversion. I went with the cheaper ttr clutch fork stop with my exedy twin.
More info here.

Hope this helps kracka.

The original purpose of the restrictor pill is to limit the driver from launching by forcing the slave to not return the clutch fork so fast. So when you remove it, the clutch will return faster and cause the over returning action that I mentioned in the thread above.
Imagine if you don't have the restrictor you could launch a ton harder than with the restrictor in. Same thing when shifting.
