Buschur is what is needed for a reliable 9sec DD!

Ok guys this is gonna be kinda long but I have to give credit where credit is due. I am posting this in this here and not the review section cause people that come here look for what works and what dont... so here it goes. This should end all the useless threads that come up with questions on "what is better?" ect...

1st let me tell what you will need, then I will show you what it looks like all together.

What you will need... this is every mod I can think of on my car. Sure some of it isnt needed but its what worked for me!

BR 2 liter, standard bore, aluminum rods (steel works to)
BR Stage 3 head
Cosworth cams (M2)
BR header kit with HTA88 turbo (HTA37R if you wish to call it that)
BR Coil on Plug
BR Race FMIC
BR 3" turbo back
BR upper and lower i/c pipes
BR battery kit
BR mustache bar
BR center member
BR diff mounts
BR double pumper
BR Dual Stage manual boost controller
BR 65mm throttle body
BR 1200 cc injectors
BR undertrays (front and rear)
Bushwacker Trans
AEM EMS (Tuned only by Master Dave)
CBRD Radiator (OK you dont need this but it looks damn good!)
Exedy Triple Plate Clutch
AWD Aluminum Driveshaft
Wilson V2 Intake Manifold
IndyEvo SS Lower Clutch Line
IndyEvo CF Cam Sheild
IndyEvo CF Bumper Covers
Apexi N1 coilovers with Swift springs

All together it looks like this...

My car has been at Buschurs for the past 5 months. Dave was kind enough to let me keep it there when I moved to Vegas. The car was in no way what so ever hurt, I just have no where to keep it at the present time. I think Dave drove the car from his house to the shop and it has set in the dyno room since. Some of you my have seen it sitting back there when you went there for a tune.

So on with my story. I got into Ohio friday for the shoot-out. I BS'ed with everyone at the shop and off I went. I drove this car 540 miles in 5 days and raced it at the shoot-out making 8 passes on Q16 at 42psi of boost, on the Indy/9sec9 Hoosier Drag Radials. And the rest of the time on 93 octane at 30 to 31psi. Dave took time out of his day at the shoot-out to check the logs and do small adjustments for me!

What I am here to tell everyone is that all this pieces and parts serve a purpose and all work together for an extremely reliable 9 sec street car. The numbers and times speak for themselves in my signature. I have run this set up for the past 2 race seasons. I have NOT once had a problem with anything. I did break my rear diff but that was my fault. I will explain if anyone wants to know.

From the bottom of my heart I wanna thank Buschur Racing for building me a car that has not stopped putting down excellent ET and Mph at the track for 2 race seasons. Also I wanna thank each and every vender listed in my parts selection for help with unbeatable parts that helped everything work together. AWD, CBRD, Indy, 9sec9, Wilson Manifolds, Exedy, Sheare, and FP. I also wanna thank BR for the testing and more testing they do to make such perfect and well balanced machines. Also did I mention it gets it gets 30+ mpg's on the highway on 93 (if you dont boost)... I did a 147 this week at the shoot-out on a DOT tire and countless 145+. The car will do 10's to 10.2's all freaking day long on Q16 and 10.4 to to 10.6 on 93 octane

The car is still at Buschurs, and I am now back in Vegas. The reason the car is there still is cause I wanna do what I like to call "Preventative Maintenance" I work on cars for a living. I see what happens when things dont get taking care of or things are abused. For my own piece of mind I am getting the engine freshed up... is it needed no. But I wanna play it safe

Thanks for reading, I hope this will better help you decide on what to buy next time you spend your hard earned money in these socialist times.

I was just seaching through new posts and found this. Thank you Jeff for the post about your car.

I really don't know what to say to be honest. You and I have become great friends through these crazy cars we build/race and drive. It was great seeing you this weekend and going out to dinner with our two families.

Get that list together so I can put this car in the 150+ mph range and you can show Vegas what's up

Thanks for everything, business, support and mostly your friendship.

Jeff, several of our trips to Ohio were also either for an upgraded motor or preventive maintenance. We also have never had a single engine failure. I roasted a head that was my fault and we've lost a couple during tests, but never had an engine failure. Good post and selection of parts. Although we use FP cams, how can anyone arque with your list. I didn't realize that you ran a 147 this weekend. Even better than I thought. Nice driving for sure.

I could and I would drive it here. I have no fear with this car. You wouldnt either it you seen the sh*t I put that thing through Its just to loud and the seats would not be pleasent to sit in for 33hrs.

I am a 13 year Volkswagen master tech I could work on the car myself, I have put 2 clutches in it back in the day, but I like experience to work on my car, someone I can trust to get it done right the first time and Master Dan B and Steve do just that.
A Mitsubishi is a foreign car to me where as the VW/Audi's are domestics... and I aint working on that foreign junk if I dont have to

I remember the head. But you got it up and running the nextday, and thats hardcore!
It was a 147.01. Only reason I now that was cause my buddy that drove up to the event, come up to me and said "hay on that last pass the board didnt show the MPH"... all I was looking at was the ET and 60fts. I pulled out the slip and we both said HOLY SH*T when we looked at it! Those Hoosier where doing something thats for sure

wow, I thought audi and vw was like impossible to work on! No wonder they pay you master techs the big bucks to mess with their german steel.

Your car is very impressive man, great job getting that nine second pass

Very smart to freshen it up, now you have worry free time to beat on her once again.

What does buschur do for a "refresh maintainance"? Sounds like more folks should do this...

It was a no brainer when I decided who was going to build my car. I drove mine from Wakeman to Fl, then to Cali. Smooth sailing all the way! Im getting her back this week after finally making the switch to E-85 . Can't wait to show off my new BR "wrinkle black" look under the hood. Jrod, thanks for battery kit, it came out sweet

Nice writeup Jeff. You definately speak the truth! These cars definately aren't indestructible, but BR makes them about as close to that as they can!

Good seeing you this past weekend. We'll have to make our way out to Vegas again and party!

I could swear the 9sec9 / OKIX car has probably had about 5 different blocks in it and probably had the head off 10 or 15 times! How many distinct blocks have you had in that car and how many times have you had to pull the head off?

And there is no such thing as a reliable 9 sec DD!

Is everyone oblivious to how many friggen cars broke at this last weekends two drag events? I think that is proof enough there is no such thing as a reliable 9 sec Evo. You want to go 9's in an Evo reliably? Well thats easy, just reliably fix things!

Jeff is your main reason for freshening up the motor to just put in new bearings? Or what else is involved in the freshening up? I've got 2 years on my 2.4 and am starting to think of freshening it up with new bearings, hone, and rings. Not sure though.

Anyway, for sure Buschur is proven to have the most customer cars in the 9's so he is the best choice in the states, but I hate to see people fooled into thinking you buy those parts, go 9's, and you don't pay out more. It's just the beginning!

I gotta say that part of having a reliable fast car is reliably fixing it, you really can't sidestep that point too much! Get that thing out to Vegas and beat some **** out there

Quick Reply: Buschur is what is needed for a reliable 9sec DD!
