Comp fixed their issues, just be sure to use an OEM Mitsu TOB no matter which clutch you choose. I've driven both the clutches you're looking at and both are fine for a daily-driver. The ACT HDSS will have smoother engagement but the Comp will be lighter for quicker shifts, have ligher pedal pressure, while being a bit grabbier. I personally have the Comp Stage 3 with Comp flywheel.

I know the ACT for sure uses a modified OEM PP and aftermarket TOB.
I dont think the TOB was exactly comps fault as the pull style clutches in the evos are kinda known for this due to no positive stop and overthrow of the fork to my understanding.
so what im saying is it "can " happen to any of them.

I haven't heard any reviews yet but spec just released a whole line up of single disk clutches for the evo. The prices are good.

I run a comp stage 3 with a prolite flywheel without issues so far. I only have about 1,000 miles on it though. It is quite grippy with a light pedal pressure.

In all honestly these are very different clutches and my recommendation will depend completely on your goals for the car. Anything over 400whp and I would recommend against the CCI as it is only a 20% increase in clamp load, however if your goals are under this threshold the CCI is a great option in regards to driveability and obviously price Either way you decided to go please let me know as we guarantee the best pricing on any Evo clutch out there!
