Oil pressure sensor relocation / Summit woes

I purchased a Summit Racing gauge kit to move my Defi oil pressure sensor off the housing. The part # is SUM-G2960. SS line is 3 ft. long and perfect length to get the sensor up to the abs box to tie/mount up there. The kit doesn't come with the correct adapter for the filter housing, but that was already on the car from previous owner. I thought I was getting a good deal at $24.95 + $4.95 s/h. BUT...

The one damn flare fitting leaks. Took it apart and no burs on male or female flare, so one must be cut a degree off or something. I call Summit and here's the conversation:

Me: "I bought this kit SUM-G2960. Invoice # is 6969277. One of the flare fittings is leaking and I've taken it apart and looked for burs on the flares and there are none. Can you send me another ss line and 90 deg. 1/8 npt (f) to -4AN male fitting and a call tag so I can return the one that is not needed?"
Tech rep: "Did you try putting teflon tape on the threads?"
Me: "It's an -AN fitting and seals on the flare."
Tech rep: "I know but did you try teflon tape?"
Me: "I have never, and will never use teflon tape on an -AN oil fitting on a $10k engine in a $35k car."
Tech rep: "Alright. This ONE time and that's it. It'll go out today."
Me: "Can you send a box/tag for me to return what I don't need out of the kit?"
Tech rep: "No. I don't want anything back."
Me: "Alright. Thanks, I guess."

Has anyone ever spoken to such an unknowledgeable tech or dealt with customer service this poor? It's a HUGE company giving me a hard time over a $25 part that is new and defective. I've built entire fuel systems with ss braided line and -AN fittings, oil lines, coolant lines, etc. I've used Aeroquip, Russell, Aeromotive, XRP, Earls. I've had a bad fitting or two and just ate it. The one time I try to get an exchange, I deal with this crap.
