Oil on spark plug

A boost leak test was performed on my car and air and a little oil started to come out the oil cap. After we found the boost leak and fixed it we changed the spark plugs. As we removed the plug closest to the oil cap we found oil on that plug. Now can this be because i need a catch can? oil was pushed up from doing the boost leak test? Oil rings are fried? There is no white blueish smoke comming out of the exhaust when i get on it. The car only has 30k miles. What can this be? We will be doing a compression test and then a oil leak down test after.

How high did u go with the boost leak test? You made sure all of the intake valves are closed?

I think the rings are fine, sounds like you had the intake valves open when you did the test and the exhaust valves closed. so you built up pressure under the valve cover and air came out of the oil cap. Maybe you pushed a little bit oil pass the valve seal??

I did the same thing once, when you perform a boost leak test you have to unplug the hose going from the intake tube to the valve cover, plug that hose and then perform the test, otherwise you get air and pressure inside the valve cover, air and oil come out of the oil cap, and most definately your spark plug got affected. I would check the new plugs to see if it still has oil, otherwise you know there is nothing to worry about, specially since your car is still pretty much new. Good luck.
