I think that when you have these heads sitting around for a long period of time the valve springs begin to get weak and can no longer hold up to high boost and high rpms. I believe these springs are Kiggly. Al

Thanks so much Brother ! Sadly, I must report that I can't give this testing unit back to you so we'll have to work something out.

I think its time to install the new Buschur Pistons and a fresh set of valve springs and aim for 850.

The HTA 88 front wheel is 100% billet - it looks darker as its slightly used

Both wheels have a 88 mm exducer

The AWD unit is about 3 mm larger on the inducer

Also the AWD unit is 6 blade while the FP unit is 7 blade

I am only using C16 right now - lets see how the higher compression Buschur super piston works and maybe I will switch to E85

Lets just say its a combination we came up with between Compressor / Turbine.. Im not even sure Al has picked up on the differences.. He would need quite a few turbos side by side to figure out the combination..

Thanks Mike for all your hard earned R & D and pushing the enevelope, its no accident why AWD has the quickest Evo 8 or IX time for 2009 and why it was done on a T3 turbo - 8 second time slips dont lie !

Al your dead right about the valve springs when compressed for long periods. i had a motor that was running sweet it was then installed in another car after i sold it. a long period past of not being used, it was run and found to be well down on power i scratched my head over it alot and it was the last thing to try a change the springs and hey presto it was sweet again.

Yes living and learning - it takes trial and error - the high reving Evo is really in need of very stiff valve springs when you are running close to 50 psi of boost

How do you think your setup would perform with a T3 based turbo?

Well this really is a turbo best suited to T3

I honestly would be only engaging in pure speculation to try and qualtify or estimate what effect the T4 flange on the twin scroll header and T4 back housing is having on my set up.

I ordered a T3 header from one of my sponsors a long time ago for testing but I have not seen it and its been several months. If anyone has a T3 mainifold they want to to lend me for testing I am game.
