edit - just saw the little heading with kelfords.

If your on stock springs - i suggest you keep a stock rev limit.

Did you upgrade the valve springs etc? Or are you on the stock springs?

I think on stock valvetrain u can rev to about 7200-7500ish....I'm currently reving to 8k on my valve springs but I usually shift around 7500 when I run the quarter

7800 is fine on stock springs (i shift around 7500 or so)....what the beehive springs or duel springs you can rev to 8200 or so.

from what i understand its not really the head but the forces on the rods that limit the rev.

Then why do I see people who post that in order to rev above a certain engine speed, the springs and such should be upgraded? So the main limiting factor to an EVO 8-9's rpms is because the bottom end can't hold?

Its both.

yeah...i mean you need to do springs and retainers but anything past like 8300 you need to have stronger rods....its a lot of g-forces on rotating parts are high revs
