Changing Serpentine Belt

Hey guys, I need to change my serpentine belt, i noticed its starting to crack, i did research on a good replacement belt and bought the Good Year Gatorback belt from autozone..

I want to do the job myself but the how to for it is pretty much a dead link now. how hard is this job? and what tools do i need? any kind of input and direction would be great.

Thanks.

jack the car up, remove passenger wheel, remove tensioner access panel(plastic cover attached to wheel liner) then insert a half inch ratchet into the box section on the tensioner, relieve belt tensioner by rotating, insert a pin ( I use a drill bit) to hold the tensioner. then you can remove the old belt and install the new one. remove the pin and allow tension back on the belt and you should be good to go.

yeah, it's a fairly easy task. the hardest part will be routing the new belt into place and even that's not too difficult.

Mitsu recommends 30k, but the stock accessory belt seems to be good for around 60k. This totally depends on your climate and driving conditions though.

Its just as easy to replace the tensioner as well since your at it. New belt and tensrioner ftw.

No need to replace the tensioner. I've never even seen or heard of anyone need to replace that. Ever. It's very tight when it's fully tensioned, and stiff to de-tension.
