questions on hks ssbov

I know that the hks ssbov causes stalling and ldling problems because it is a vta bov and evo 8s hav MAF Sensor but i was wondering what if you got intercooler replacement pipes like hard pipes and welded them on near either the throttle body or on the intercooler pipe would this still cause stalling problems?

i had the hks ssqv kit from ultimate racing...and it worked great! has never stalled on me. the rpms will fall slightly below idle when on and off boost, but that's normal. you learn to "drive it out".

i've since upgraded to their hard pipe kit with ssqv welded near the TB, still works great...funny thing is the ssqv sound changed a bit moving locations

I have the HKS SSQV VTA BOV. It is awesome. You need to learn how to drive your car with it. If you go WOT and let go of the gas, your RPM's will drop and then revive itself. Remember to let go of the gas slowly when you are coming to a stop or better, downshift.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

the hard pipe kit's purpose is not to fix bov issues.

i hear that if you get the apexi s-afc II there is a feature that will correct the blow off valve problem and what do you mean by revive itself like it will drop below 1000rpm but wont stall out on you

let's say your normal idle is 800rpm. when you hit boost and clutch in right away and let the rpms fall...they will tend to fall to about 400-500 then raise up to 800rpm again.

small price to pay for some BOV VTA action

Am I the only one who thinks "driving around" a problem that you are causing by spending $200+ to run rich is not the proper solution?

You don't have to VTA to get the sound, I scare enough people as it is.

I'd love to get an HKS d/v but I can't handle buying a "kit" to adapt it. They should just make the real deal as one unit ala forge.
