What shifter bushings to get?

Ya, thats why I also chose the Works underhood shifter bushings. I didnt feel like having to frequently lube up the shifter bushings. I dont know how true it is, but I also heard the solid shifter bushings can wear your synchros more than poly.

this : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SHORT...=p4506.c0.m245 $30 plus shipping
and this: http://speed-source.net/products/shifter_cable.htm (the mitsubishi BIG kit) $29 shipped
and this: http://speed-source.net/products/shifter_base.htm $29 shipped
and you will have one of the tightest shifters around for under $125. Best mod I've done on my car. Through in a couple of bucks to RussellM on here and he can get you the shifter retainer in a few days and make it a complete bolt in process instead of having to cut your old shifter to get the retainer off of it.
LOL I just realized that the Ebay link I posted includes the base bushings! So drop the last link and save some money and buy the new retainer from RussellM. LOL I leave the link there for reference for anyone who just needs the base bushings.
As for the the bushings wearing out the synchro's, I don't believe the bushings are at fault. I believe the operator is at fault for not learning a new technique while using different parts. I have had these in for a while, and while the shifts are much faster, I can see how, if the clutch was not fully depressed when the shift was started, it could wear out synchro's fairly quickly.
Don't confuse yourself, the bushings only change the solidity (new word?) of the shift, not the engagement and disengagement point of the synchros. It's a compromise, the poly still allows just a little bit of slop to make up for the "driver input" or lack of adjustment to it. (maybe slop is the wrong word since they are still very firm just a lower durometer rating then brass of anodized steel.
Just FYI, I used antiseize on mine when I put them in a while ago and still no issues or need to relube them.
Sorry so long winded.

For most items I agree with you whole heartedly, however with this item, I have installed in several cars and have yet to have a problem with any of them. Plus some of the best products and vendors we have on here started off on Ebay. Look at Sparktech from back in the day. They were strictly Ebay sales for a while. People found them to be a good product and a fair price and they were able to go mainstream. This product is made of high quality material and the fit and finish is on par with the more expensive "name brands". Plus with a part like this you can only re-engineer it a few ways so techniqually they would all be knock-offs of the first one to come out.

This is what it looks like:

Sorry I couldn't post a better reference or my own picture of where it goes. ( I have a spare shifter assy in my garage back home but I am currently in Afghanistan).
It is what holds the factory shifter into the shifter assy and allows it to pivot to the necessary positions.

It's looks like it leans forward away from the driver. Is that because the pic has been reversed or is this for a right hand drive car (JDM) or what?
It also says it's for an VIII but I guess that doesn't matter, IX uses the exact same piece it looks like.
any ideas?
