brian crower 288/288 cams?? mivec delete? injectors?? throttle body??
got a full costorth motor and just got the 288/288 cams for brian crower. not too familiar with evos and im just wondering if these cams are decent? and if i will still have an idle and if i need to get adjustable cam gears to use them? or can i just drop them in, set up the timing marks and roll? im wondering that and im wondering if im going to have to run differnt valve to piston timing or if i can just line up the stock marks?
also, what size injectors and inline pump to run with a motor, cams, fp red, small 50 shot, and all bolt ons??? i have a fuel cell now and need an inline pump and injectors, so what size of both?
i heard some talk about ditching mivec, the guy assembleing my engine was throwing around the idea of using evo 8 cams and gears in a ix and not haveing the mivec? is this possible useing the ix head casting? and stock ecu? he said honda guys ditch vtec all the time and just set all there timings where they need to be manually, he said the mivec just alows them to run a big cam from the factory and still idle and drive smooth. is all this true? and is it possible to use evo 8 cams and gears in an 06 ix? he also said i could use the evo 9 cams and just buy 2 cams gears, adjustable ones, like from an 8 or something and just leave the oil holes in the cam. but loose the mivec cam gear and sensor. is all this possible and is it worth doing?
and i see people using bbk ford 5.0 throttle bodies on there evos. can i do this on a stock ported manifold if i use an adapter plate? what about tps? and can i remove the iac if using a stock ecu? and if use the bbk throttle body, what size?
i will be putting my engine back in soon and really need help with the above issue!
