Question Best compression for e-85?

so, im curious if there are any advantages to droping or raising the compression ratio on my e-85 build.

I am doing a full build with 86mm wiseco pistons, eagle rods, l19 head studs, main studs....etc.

Ethanol will tolerate a lot more timing and compression compared to 93 octane. You will pick up off boost power and on boost power. We have a custom made arias 10:1 piston with super h.d. wrist pins for our E85 cars. I know you can even go higher than that. I believe English racing posted a lot of info on this topic just do a search for it. Good luck on your build!

thanks for the input. im not planning on running crazy boost, so 10:1 may give me just the right off boost response.

I'm at 10.1 with 93/e100 mix and love it, getting ready to go higher!

For E85 yea 10.1 - 10.5 is good! A friend of mine is making 714awhp on a 2g eclipse with HTA3582 at 38psi with 10.1 on E85

I made 663 breaking up with issues and 9.0a/f's on 10.1 at 35psi with E100 so yea I say it's a safe bet.

like mentioned above, expect some seriously high TQ numbers with E85, because it allows for tons and tons of timing.... and man does the TQ ever feel good.... TQ is what also breaks **** as well, so be careful.

lol 9.0 a/f and still producing 633whp... crazy. Doesn't higher compression also mildly assist in turbo spoolup?

No it doesn't, it just provides so much more torque under the curve that it feels like your spooling fast when in fact your just making more power per psi of boost as the car rolls into positive pressure. Gives her a little more yank down low!

It doesnt help with "spool-up" but will yield with more power in the low-mid range than a 9:1 setup produces
