Exclamation Evo 8 Valve Question...

Hej Guys

i was hoping for maybe an answer here.

i have an evo 8 with 50k miles. about a year ago AMS installed head studs & 264 cams & a tune as well.

well, my question is, 2 wks ago i started to hear a knocking noise. like a pounding noise pretty much.. the next day the car didnt start.

i decided id investigate the problem myself.

everything looked ok until i liked down the spark plug hole to discover, my valves were broken in half..

so i decided to look further. as i was taking off the head bolts, i noticed one was pretty much seized to my motor. isnt there some kind of greese thats supposed to be used when installing them?

anyways, continuing on.. drained the coolant took off the manifold and intake bolts and have a person help me lift everything off and what do i find..

every single valve on my exhaust side is broken off.. the intake side is fine.

what exactly would cause this?

thanks

chrissy

wow. sorry to hear about this. before taking the head off your should've check the cam gears to makes sure everything was on timing. that would've been a give away right there. but otherwise my guess is belt jumped pretty bad.

Timing was off do to a belt jump possible. It's kinda a give away since all of your exhaust vavles are gone.

Side note: Did you take the head off you car by yourslef? If so will you marry me?
