6 Speed vs. 5 Speed

I heard the 6 speed transmission is a slush box and the 5 speed is much better. I am looking to buy an Evo IX next spring and was wonder what tranny is best? What are the pros and cons to each?

The 5 speed is beefier, and less shifting at the track, just all around better.

And for those who don't plan on going to the track?
How is the 6-speed compared to the 5-speed for say... highway cruising?
