I've got these rods.... still need to install them They are badass when you see them in person and when I compared them to others out there they seemed like the best bang for your buck when going for big power.

Howard's isn't exactly known as a racing connecting rod supplier. Not that these rods won't do the trick, but I would explore other options before these. IMO a Howard's is going backwards from a Pauter.

What issues did you have with the Pauter rod? What is your plan for this engine?

I think MAP might use these in the FDSM Rx7. I would give them a ring.

According to who? They are bigger in the domestic world but make rods for many racing applications.

If that's the case then they should be a proven rod. I was looking at a set of Manley PPS 300m's but i think for my application that might be over kill. I think i'll be getting a set of these for my engine build over winter.

That being said it would still be nice to here from someone that has them in there car.

I think I've decided to go with these too. There's to many good features about these rods for the money. 7/16 ARP bolts, wider bearings, 652g, Map's 4G64 RX-7, and their Evo build with 1053hp. i spoke to Map's engine builder and am very impressed with what I heard

Some Info from their website:

"The research phase for these connecting rods consisted of a process called Finite Element Analysis which helped us to determine the weakest points of the factory connecting rod design. Using that information we developed a prototype using state-of-the-art CNC equipment that included the finest high nickel AQ4340 billet steel material, Ampco 18 bronze wristpin bushings, Manton alignment sleeves, and massive 7/16" ARP 2000 series fasteners. In the final development phase the prototype was heat treated, fully stress relieved, and shot peened to ensure that no stress risers or surface imperfections remain. The end result: A 652 gram connecting rod that we feel is the strongest and most reliable steel connecting rod available on the market for this application."
