Thanks guys. It was a classic case of greedy gets you in the end. Its not a hard fix but it is irritating to have to yard the head back off cause I wanted every last drop. Oh well, live and learn.

8Emperor- Your combustion chamber was deformed or the bowls?

the bowls sorry not sure if i specified i type faster than i think sometimes.

The bowls had no shape to them what so ever. It angled right from the valve guide the the valve seat. I have pics but I cant find my camera wire.

So once I seen mine I decided to port them myself. I like doing my own work for one, and two I can't afford really all the work that needs to be done. Going with a new 2.4l so Ill be doing everything from top to bottom besides maching that is. I dont have those kind of tools just yet.

Okay so here are the logs to correspond with the 2 dyno plots posted. I threw in one marked old 483 which was when the car was on RC1000s prior to the ID2000s and now the FIC2150s with the new motor.

There was a very brief spike tonight at 25psi but this didnt last for long before it dropped back to 23psi. The 92 octane came from the Chevron across the street like it always does, no additives, nothing crazy, just pumpgas.

I think between the revised S2s (still not the ones we had planned, those are on their way) and the increased compression the car feels better everywhere. Course the displacement goes along way as well in all of this, but the 3 worked very well with the head port job as well.

I am gonna post up some more comparisons of the various power levels and the boost it took on the 2.0l vs tonight on the 2.2 at 23psi.

Not quite there with the timing yet but i was getting close

Corrected numbers for everyone interested in keeping things corrected

Power under the curve is nice +136whp/142 ft lbs at 5k

So this shows that while "corrected numbers" are nice for letting everyone know what a combo is worth, I cant race at a corrected level. Tonight I am up about 9whp since the air is a somewhat brisk 52*.

I still really have some tuning to do with the timing down low. Getting used to a bigger bore and higher compression i have the timing a little conservative still and it reflects in the powerband some especially around 5750 or so.

Wow! very nice pump numbers, I may have to reconsider putting the 3586 on my evo instead of the DSM

It would be nice to see boost overlayed on these charts, what caused the dip at 5800?

<EDIT> Oops, we must have hit submit at the same time, you already answered my question. </EDIT>

John-

No worries Johnny, its about 6* there right now (which is alot more than I had had it before) but it still wants more. I think its within 1-2 degrees of where it needs to be though. I find it very odd (and am looking at your 1g dyno sheets and Jake's 2.3 VIII) to try to ascertain why I am making the same on pump as your E85. I am assuming your cars should be able to do it between the slight displacement increase and less compression? The plan is wednesday for some E98 "testing".

In other news, the studs finally got here and I got a shipment notice on your HG...you may have parts after T-day
