JohnBradley's 2.2 long rod build
#211
For some reason the version of WinPep I have on my personal lappy is not working correctly and wants to chop part of the graph out. So for the time being its gonna have to be in speed with no torque. It does have Boost Vs Power though. All runs spiked about 2.5-3psi higher than it was at near peak power. On the old setup the boost was perfectly flat with no addl spike. The exception are the 563 and 568 runs which dropped back to 23psi just like the 570 run monday. I moved the 2.2 files to a new folder so thats why the numbers dont match up.

I wanted to be able to drive it around on pumpgas for the weekend and it will go to corn next week. I had a 641/537 pull last night but not sure how repeatable it is so I left the low one up. Besides Chris and I have a friendly rivalry so I wanted to see what I could do on pumpgas. He was on 93 and a 9:1 2.3, so I figured we would be pretty close.
It's sad it took me so long to get it all working because now its going to end up as a dyno queen for the winter.

Screenshot of the log for any that want to look at it and not download them:
You also get to see why a voltage based knock system is worthless. The factory knock setting have been unaltered in my motor at this point. It is 5.5 though piston to wall, so its not the quietest.
I guess its 6* at 31.8 psi for that brief second, that might be reporting error from EvoScan but we do know it was at least 30psi. I am going to start revving it higher as well. The ultra long rod was a ***** to stuff in there with alloy rods but it seems to support high end power very well.
Here is the uncorrected number for last night as well:
The torque was 537.6 for the record.

I thought when I saw the 641 HP that was on corn..but on 92 is just wow! You must be ecstatic with the results Aaron, I would be. Have you driven this beast around? Hows the driveability on 92 with those 2150s? Thanks again for a brilliant write-up

The FIC2150s are high impedance Bosch based injectors and are like the ID2000s as far as drivability. Idle nice, cruise good, keep the fire fed at high horsepower, so all in all they win in my book. Yeah it is still on 92 octane pumpgas but it will be going on E85 before too long.

Hey Aaron. Here's a pic of my head. I remember you saying the valve chambers where worse on your number 1 cyl while mine was worse on 4. I left the last chamber on cyl 4 un touched so you could see it.
Heres a pictures of the ported chambers. There not smoothed yet but they look alright still.

All runs are in 3rd and then a boost check in 4th on EBC equipped cars. I only tune diesels in 5th We have made 1-4 pulls on the dyno but I generally keep wheel speed limited to 100 or less in case the brakes on the dyno ever decided to go wonky.

ok cool,
is yours a 5speed of 6speed gearbox?
i'm just wondering because your dyno figures will be "out" if you're in a gear that isn't 1:1. Because the gearbox is a torque multiplier. The closest in my car is 4th, which equates to 4.68 ratio, with my car having a 4.5 final.
