^^ nice.. thats almost exactly what i have planned for next year, except im just getting the AMS 2.3 not the RR version. cant afford that. I bet itll be impossible to keep the green outta boost on a 2.3 . i wonder how much of a gain can be found from AMS's new F1 intake manifold on a green. if i got the money next year ill have them do a back to back test of it on my car, stock mani vs. F1

The green is in the 54-55 lb/min range, which is atleast 11 lb/min over stock. So far from babying it around town, the turbo seems to spool only a lil slower than stock. Its kinda hard to keep it out of boost, especially gettin on the interstate. Im gonna have trouble finding a dyno around here tho, Im gonna look in Lincoln and see if they have an AWD dyno.
Look up mkcperformance.com. Talk to Chad. Little bit of a drive to KC but worth it. Great guys there.

I don't know of a single customer with a red/green failure...so it's a non issue to me.

Like I may only be at 20 lbs at 4k on the 35R but I'm still putting down the same power as a HTA green or BBK....am I thinking of it in too simple terms.

Chris can you help with my real basic example. Using the stock turbo as a baseline for full boost at X rpm's, then comparing the the HTA green, BBK, Red, and quicker spooling HTA35R at the same X rpm the stock trubo had full boost at and determining what the power under the curve was at that rpm.

God that was confusing. LOL.
I don't have any hard data on that with the same car but you can search for threads I started for various customers results and see the difference. What you said isn't accurate though...once you get into the bigger turbos they aren't making as much hp/tq when they aren't in boost yet and a smaller turbo is.

I am going to wait for a month or so to do it so she can enjoy all the nice weather that is left this year. The mods are in my signature, I had a local dyno shop do the tuning for me, and it went great, we had 0 knock, the spoolup is great, it starts spool at 2800, maybe full spool at 3500 and holds it all the way to redline.
the hp is great but the torque is lacking for e85, I'm guessing they dialed that back to save the engine eh?

That was on E85, though right? What sort of numbers on 93? And where are you finding that stuff in PA? I am out by Philly but there is only one place that has it like 20 miles away. I want E85 but it is too inconvienient until I move out west where it is more common.

Yeah, I was getting fearful of the internals so we dialed things back a bit. Also, I am running out of fuel from the single walbro, so the torque was retarded a bit right before peak values. I am really anxious to see the boost this thing will produce and how it will react with a 2.2 or 2.3 motor. I will keep you posted as to how she feels, but i need to save my pennies, that shortblock is worth its weight in gold... I am anxious to see what AMS can produce for a cool 8 grand.... Yeah, there are around 6 E85 stations in my area, one 10 miles away, another few 15 or so. I just fill up and top it off and fill up two five gallon jugs and it does the trick for a while. Considering a 55 gallon drum for the garage though....

Will be keeping an eye on the local Pittsburgh thread to get updates. Have any time frame on when you plan to do the shortblock? I'd love to get a ride in your car before you do (preferably on pump gas). I'm getting my turbo upgrade done next spring and I'm not sure if I'll go with the green or possibly this new black turbo. I plan to run road track events instead of drag racing, so I need to figure out what setup will work best.

Well, it depends on what route I choose, either the 2.3RR and spend some serious money that way, then it will take a while to afford all the parts to support that power. Or just a BR 2.1 or so with a ported and polished head, upgraded Tcase and transmission then it might happen sooner rather than later. I am still cruising around on the E85 flash, I have the dual map switch and just need to install it and flash the pump map. I am around for a ride anytime, drop me a PM. Sorry to the OP for going off topic, if you have any other questions about the green or the setup drop me a PM.
