The one friend's car I drove with a BR trans in it shifted like butter, and felt better then stock to me. I actually have it on my car however haven't driven the car with it yet.

you cannot go wrong with either. I think the BR build is slightly cheaper if that matters

I agree, can't go wrong with us or Shepherd. Both of us do a quality job and both of us stand behind our work.

You'll be happy either way. I personally run a Bushwacker trans and I love it. Dan does great work and has a very quick turn around time.

Hope this helps!

You are not far from Ivey. Give him a shout. He does a great job with Transmissions as well. Just had mine redone by him. Was done in 2 weeks.

If I'm not mestaken did John not build Buschur trannys for the first few years? It's 6 of one 1/2 dozen of the other unless you want a dog box or some other way to spend your $$$.

well my 2 cents i have no experience with buschur tranny but I have had TRE rebuilds and Shep rebuilds and I am done with TRE they convinced me my tranny was fine and it had to be the clutch. Turns out I got a new clutch in and it was the tranny then right about that time the warranty ran out and they pretended to never remember the conversation(saved email) Shep did a good job fixing my tranny but I feel I was nickel and dimed. You know this is broke (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th 5th reverse hell every gear) when i was driving the car before with only one gear giving me a problem so maybe i need trannys for dummies but i dont know how every gear was messed up when it had no shifting problems(grinding, slipping out of gear or anything) bill came to almost $2,000. With your tranny several states away not knowing what it looked like nor anything about the internals what can you say. Either way be ready to spend money and happy V8 hunting

Well I got a basic shep rebuild and they said 3 out of my 5 gears were no good but I only had issues with fast shifting. I could shift just fine in daily traffic but I agree though that shep nickel and dimes ya. If this tranny breaks on me then I am going buschur next time. I ordered the tranny from shep and it took 4 weeks to build then when I sent them my old tranny for a core it took them 3 weeks before they could open it up to tell me that the core was only good for $400 out of the $1000 deposit I gave them. So I would say check out buschur...but thats just me. Just not a too happy customer from shep.
