Not sure on the effect of the dump, but we dynoed my car with Helix Exhaust and silencer a few years ago. It was a ~40-50 HP loss at the wheels with the silencer!

Wow I Normally run a silencer when I am just driving around town. I knew I could feel a difference but I never expected it to be that much of a difference. Thats really amazing.

I was considering putting my silencer back in my 3 in greddy, but after seeing this I will definitely not go through with it. I really need to put something in the mid pipe though because it is really loud.
