so i searched and searched about this clutch and could only find a couple reviews. so i figured why not make one of these threads.

i am almost positive i will be getting this clutch, my car is not a daily driver. however i do drive the car 2-3 times a week weather pending.

i just wanted to hear some input on this clutch, the only twin disk i drove personally was an exedy twin HD and it was butter. i'd like to hear how it compares to the QM, i heard it was a bit more rough.

so with that said, post up your reviews!!

it is a lot more rough. very noisey, low inertia, very tight engagement. the exedy only makes a slight chatter and thats it. the quartermaster is bad ***, but its for race cars and people who don't give a crap about noise, or driveability.

noisey as hell, engagement is rough but not terriable. but this clutch performes like a CHAMP!
shifts like a dream. WOT shifting all day long!

Same with the rest. Very aggressive for a daily driver, rough engagement, all sorts of noises but it can hold power! Worst thing is to try and drive the car uphill from a stop!

I drive my car like you almost. Usually at night to meet friends, or at the track, or when I just want to have some fun. It's not a daily driver that's for sure!

Yes the older quartermasters are very loud ,mess with your knock sensor loud. They changed the design a while back and they have become a LOT quieter. The engagement is harsh but you get use to it. Most people love the fact that the clutch has a hydraulic release bearing making it a little easier to DD. The major problem right now is you will not get very many miles out of a QM. We have seen a few with 20,000 but even QM was suprised. Just to let you guys know QM is working on a new clutch right now that should have a lot more longevity and be a little easier to DD.

Only better thing i could think of is a converted Exedy triple so that the streetability was better........or a Tilton i guess but ive never had nor driven one.

We are currently doing the official review on the QM ceram twin and writing the installation manual for it. Once we have all the pics formatted we will be posting up an official review.

Many other clutch MFRs use QM's hydraulic release bearing. We expect great things to come with this clutch.

We have weighed it at 18.6lbs with flywheel and all on the 7.25" unit. EXEDY twin is 32lbs FYI.

The newest model will be slated for release in about 4 weeks or so.

It's more than just the weight difference. The moment of inertia is smaller too with the 7.25" clutch disc. Weight is more significant the further out it gets.

Inertia for a circle = (pi/2)*(radius^4)

Inertia for the qm disc (7.25") = 4340 in^4

Inertia for exedy (7.875") = 6041 in^4
