How did you decide on the Brad Penn? Because of FP's recommendation? Do you have a built motor?

I guess either way, both are on their approved oil list

My friend runs it in his built evo making 700whp so i say why not? It's really good oil. I'm on stock bottom end fp black on 27psi daily on a 93 pump with a 2 gallons of tt111 race gas with every fill up to help with knock and a peace of mind. Id go with brad penn over ams oil. Nothing but good things

Long over due for an update...

I've been busy especially the last few weeks. Deciding final details on the engine / head etc...

My FP Black was rebuilt after a failure of the thrust bearing. I'm hoping they offer a BB upgrade soon, as I will definitely hop on it.

I have decided on an English Racing Built 2.0:
Wiseco 9:1 1400 HD's - Coated by TCC
Manley I-Beams - Coated by TCC
ACL Race Main Bearings
AMS Wet Sump Oil Pan
ARP Headstuds (Not L19 as per Aarons suggestion)
Cometic Head Gasket
GSC S2's

I had MAP build the head. It's their Stage 3 offering with:
Kiggly Valve springs / Kiggly titanium retainers / Kiggly valve seats / Kiggly HLA / Supertech black nitride intake and inconel exhaust valves / Supertech valve guides / Ferrea valve locks / MAP EGR blockoff plate / MAP ceramic coating and thermal block

I also had MAP port and polish my stock intake manifold. I believe they may have messed up and given me their REV3 instead of their REV2, as my plenum was cut (maybe not?). Either way, it came out great

I am also going to send my transfer case out to Shep to have it looked over (and upgraded with a Quaife LSD) before everything goes back together.

Upgrading to Buschur's double pumper setup as well as FIC 1650's (or bigger, as this has yet to be determined).

I'm going to send the head and block to Aaron and it will come back as a long block ready to drop in !

Anyways....

Here's some pics:

Wow good progress and the choices you made. I like that engine angle dealy you used to pull the motor out. Where did you get it? I might need to get one for when I pull my motor.

Thanks buddy Took a long time to go over all of the available options out there...

It's called an engine 'load leveler', it came in real handy. I got it from Harbor Freight for 30$. Here's the actual one I got http://www.harborfreight.com/3-4-qua...ler-67441.html

You have to love the 20% coupons Harbor Freight has....it's so cheap as it is, it almost feels like your stealing the stuff, haha!

Looks nice! Do you mind if I ask why you were steered away from the L19 studs? I'm doing a build now and will need head studs soon.

Sure.

Here's what Aaron said, "We have been going away from the L19s as number one the 8740s seem to seal just as good with our current process on the head and block and the L19s have not proved to be reusable as advertised."

What their current process is, I'm not sure of yet. Shoot him a PM
