Apparently the Japanese stroker kits fit fine???
Like a few people have said, this happens with some rod/piston combos and stroker cranks.

If done as directed, it's not an issue. Carrillo makes a find rod. Most other rods for this platform would be a downgrade.

seriously speaking, your engine builder is not that gd
he is not prepared nor does he have the confidence to machine the block to fit the rod
well gd luck, if he is inexperience and have never machined a block before
dont let him do it, u will end up wasting more money

Hey guys!!

We lined the rods up against a set of tomei rods and it seems the carrillos are 5 to 6mm wider and simply too much material would have to be taken from the cyl bores. The webbing in the block is not an issue but the rod hits the cyl bore pritty major and too much material would have to be taken..

Anyone wanna buy some carrillo rods??? Haha

I have done a bit of research, and it looks like I MAY have been supplied the incorrect rods for a stroker build.

^ they have different part numbers,...??

These rods will definatly not fit with the stroker crank. The block would have to be machined waaay to much..

My mechanic is worried that if he did machine that much material out that he would hit a water jacket. Something im not prepaired to risk.

Sounds like you have an interference in the middle of the rod, not at the end. My comments are directed towards interference at the end of the rod.

Yeah, don't clearance bottom of the cylinder bores.

Thats right mate. The crank wont even swing more then 45*. The rods are simply too big. They are about 6~8mm wider then any other rod my engine builder has seen.

We lined them up against a set of tomei rods, and the carrillos are HUGE!

Look like we are going to strip my motor back down. He is going to intall my standard crank and one rod to see if it clears with the 88mm crank.

If it doesnt, there is something seriously wrong.

We are going to replace the carrillos with a set of tomei 150mm rods at this stage.

If anyone is interested in a set of carrillo rods with the almost indestructable carr bolts, please PM me or e-mail me on tonba88@hotmail.com as I have contacted MAPerformance and they will not return them.

Well, at least those are 1000whp of useless rods on your hands.

This still seems weird to me. I haven't heard about this problem, and I swear there are others who have those Carrillo H-beams with a stroker crank. I could always be wrong though...
