carbon fiber intercooler piping???
Hey ya'll
I have a very good friend that molds/makes carbon fiber parts for helicopters and he presented an Idea that I thought may be kinda cool.
Carbon fiber intercooler piping. He said he could make molds for it and make it it all into one piece instead of 2 different pieces.
My question is about the durabilty of it. I wonder if it's something that would last at my boost levels. 31 PSI on pump gas and 41 on race gas.
Just seeing what you all think about this Idea.
I know it's probably more trouble than it's worth but hell, I've done TONS of things to the car that is a lot of trouble, to a car enthusiast It's worth it

this would be a legit carbon fiber tube. it would be several different layers.
He's making it sound like it would hold pressure just fine if layered properly. He also has an evo and of course will be making it for himself first. then if it's successfull I will try it and see if it will hold big boost levels
I'm only wondering if it might hurt airflow. A metal piping is very smooth on the inside so the air has no resistance. BUT I'm guessing you can make carbon fiber very smooth also.....
