My suggestion would be to sell those and buy the proper one for you car.

I do not suggest you use those, but hey its your car.

i dont understand why you would really want to do that. find your old invoice and or visit your local acura/honda dealer and see if they will take them back...

then use that money and buy the proper OEM mitsu filters. On a side note..the PCX (s2000) filters look pretty damn close to the evo filters, here at work. HAHA id never try it tho

they 'fit', like fit snug like the OE filter? Or basically fits in the box?

If it fits snug like OE, I see no problem with using a Honda filter.

i wouldnt use it, theres ALOT of non-evo filters that WILL fit on the evo but doesnt mean it's best for it. i know my 06 civic and my mother's mdx filter all fit the evo, but doesnt mean i'd mix and match

Pretty much agree with what others have said. Im sure it wouldn't hurt, but why take a chance. Just sell the one's you have now and buy the correct filters.

Use OEM its only about $5 dont go cheap and use filters that arent for the car. You will probably regret it later.

The mating surface for a Subie filter is the same as what fits an Evo. Since I have both I buy the same filter for both cars. The only thing I'd be careful about, since the Evo puts out so much oil pressure, is getting a filter with a good valve or the filter may bypass. I imagine the Honda OEM filter would have a good bypass valve. So, if the mating surface is the same it should be good to use.

coming from a honda to my evo i can tell u that the oil filters should work. i always bought stp oil filters and they use the same part numbers, from bseries to the 4g63. i even think my wifes legacy used the same filter. s6607 if i remember correctly. all oem filters prolly come from the same company anyway they just slap their logo on it. besides if anything the oem honda filter is superior to the mitsu oem. just my 2cents. i love my evo but mitsu has a long way to go to compete with honda.

Sell them and buy the proper OEM Mitsu filter. Not to mention, the only North American OEM Honda filters that are quality are the S2000 ones, the rest are made by Fram.

No, you are incorrect. OEM filters do NOT all come from the same place. As a matter of fact, i work for honda and there are 3 different manufacturers of filters that they use (thats ive seen so far).

90% of the filters Honda ships out to dealers are the sister company of FRAM
(honeywell). ive cut about 5 filters apart...and i can surely tell you that Honda filters are NOT superior in any way (excluding the PCX-004 s2000 filtech filters/and older pre-superseded PLM-A01).

im not even sure why people are debating over this.... buy the proper filter for your vehicle. pretty simple. if you have almost a case of honda ones...sell them on honda-tech and make some money back and buy a handful of mitsu filters.
