why no Garret ff kits?

why no Garret ff kits?

Why are most people running the Precision style turbo with the front facing manifold?

Who daily drives their front facing kit with a Garret style turbo? How do you like it?

Buschur has done some 3586 front facing kits. They are out there, just gotta look around. The Buschur car was a 2.1 that did 708whp on his dyno and has ran as fast as 159 I believe.

yeah i'm pretty sure DB was the one to start all the FF mayhem

Thanks for the responses, that answers one question.

If I could get some feedback from people who dd their car with the ff kit, that would be great. I wouldn't imagine it would be much different driving than a regular tubular manifold.

yea, aside from that you need to find a kit that suits you:
e.g; if you want ac or not
allows for a filter to fit or not.



otherwise, a screen instead of a filter = "s*** happens" if/when youre turbo picks up kicked up debris..lol

Well to knock those two out of the way:

No a/c
and yes for the filter

The BR kit comes with the filter and a carbon fiber screen. I would ask them but it seems that everyone affiliated with BR has been disabled so I'll ask the Evom community.

Will a Precision turbo (6262) bolt to the BR front facing manifold? Their website says the Garret turbo's (GT30, GT35, GT37, ect.) will bolt up buy they don't mention the Precision turbo's compatibility. Can anyone confirm this?

yes, the 6262 will fit.

its size is virtually identical to a 35r's compressor housing.

It's funny because I was torn between the HTA86 or the 6262 buy after seeing your signature I think I may of made up my mind.

I'm sure it'll change in the morning though. I've just heard that the 6262 spools a little bit quicker than the identical HTA86. And the fact that the 6262 is a good amount cheaper than the Garret. But it's still a toss up for me though.

Actually if you measured from the compressor inlet to the turbine outlet, the 6262 is quite a bit wider. This could be an issues on a FF manifold as it would put the compressor closer to the front of the car which might be an issue with a filter.

I have both turbo's at my shop, i can measure it if people want.

I think the old setup on the CFT/procco/whatever its called evo was the first up there that i've seen, must have been 3 years back or so...
