Engine died out HELP!!
my car sputtered and shut off on me and i tried starting it again and it wouldnt start up. my friend driving behind me said it smelled and looked like i was running a little rich but i checked my A/F gauge and it read normal between 14-15 at idle. it cranks but it doesnt want to start up, i checked the fuel spark and air and it seemed fine. can anyone help me figure out this mystery that i have? would really appreciate it and thanks in advance!

Don't assume you're getting spark or fuel. I'm guessing you have a CEL, have you pulled any codes?
Pull the plug and check to see if it's arcing when you crank, that'll help you check spark. When you turn the key do you hear the fuel pump priming? If you don't have both spark or fuel it's either your crank position sensor or the ecu's dead.

thanks alot for the replies guys, id figure out the problem and looks like im gonna need a new head. skipped timing and bent some valves, bleh thanks again

mine did the same kinda thing yesterday
but ive checked all and the fuel in the return line is not coming when im trying to start..
wat wud u guyz say about this ?
shud the fuel come in the fuel return line ?
might be my walbro is gone ..
also tell me how much fuel shud come on the main fuel line when im starting ?

Having a similar problem but code P0123 was thrown: TPS issue. Looking into it tomorrow with my buddy and hope to have it fixed without having to buy a new TPS from mitsu.

no there is no check engine light ,btw how wud i know that there is check engine light if the car is not starting ?
there is spark coming in the plugs .
how shud i check about the cranck position sensor ?
actually im in the break in period also ,ive changed the rings last week and drove the car for about 50 kms only up till now ..
the car was on idle for about 15 mins and suddenly its start to sputter and even on throttle and than it died ,now its not starting .
checked the plugs and they r ok ,
no fuel coming in the fuel return line ,and very less fuel coming in the main line and it looks there is air in it ..
fuel comes and than stop and comes and stop but no pressure ..
there is spark coming in the plugs .
