at the track I don't see my rpm drops below 6K

280/280 is only suggested for 1000hp/42r or bigger turbo. 280/272 is in the middle of this and 272/272 which is more suited for 30-37r turbos. Thats what a differnt company listed should hold true here.

As a general statements thats true. but i am only going to be running a twin scroll 35r. not a HUGE turbo by any means, but i am running the 272/280 so it can force more air in and breathe more. so doing a 272/280 does not mean that you need to be running over a 37r

yes this is true but just know at a certain rpm and psi level ur turbo starts to be inneficiant and all thats happening is hott air is being forced in... just know the 280 was meant to make power high in the power band and with certain turbos this cant be done due to the turbo's innability to produce good numbers at certain rpm's and boost levels

just imagine a stock 8 turbo running to 9k.. its not going to due any power running that high rpm...

Great info, this makes me lean into the 272/272 for my stock turbo (for now, future FP red/black)

springs arent needed on the kelford 272's if your only revving to 7500 rpms. but i have seen valve float at 7900-8000 many times. so i guess your one of those stock turbo guys eh? and every car is diff, some can make 650hp on stock block and some blow at 575. as some cars will get valve float with the kelford 272's on stock springs and some wont.

I upgraded my springs/retainers so ican safely spin the motor up to 8500rpms....didn't feel safe doing going any higher then that....I heard Rods/Rod bearing failure is more of an issue past that point.

Why are you cheap?? do you HAVE TO...well no, but should you? ABSOLUTLY. With some 272's you can get away with not changing your valve springs, but other companies (can't think of them off the top of my head, might be HKS) recommend that you do this.

Do it once, Do it right.
