So did your friend really pay to rebuild the majority of your drivetrain just for the issue to not be resolved? If I was him I'd want my money back.

sorry to bring this back from the dead..but did anyone ever end up finding out what was causing this noise?..my evo 7 has decided to start making the same noise, ive taken it to 4 or 5 different people..and almost every one of them said 'i duno, thats really weird' only actual answer i got was my front diff..

yes, it turned out to be a damaged ring and pinion. not visible to the eye so it was missed on first rebuild.

that sounds like a TC wine.. had mine replaced and it was making that exact same noise
