Anyone install 8.5mm plug wires?
I have reviewing the documentation in my Magnecor 8.5mm spark plug wire box and it's like a horror story waiting to happen. Anyone have any experience personally on an Evo with these wires or anything similar? I went to their website and it appears that the Mitsu DOHC 16v 4-cylinder (didn't specify if it was a turbo or not) had a lot of problems with oil and moisture accumulation deep in the plug cavity. Since I don't feel like having my car sputter to work, I am holding off on putting these in until I hear some feedback. If you have changed your plug wires, please tell me in detail what precautions/tips you suggest. Thanks!
Chris

do them one at a time and jut make sure they are on all the way plug wires are one of the easiesy things to install at home
on a 4g63 take the wire cover off of the head then pull wire off then replace it with the new one do them 1 by 1 as not to screw up the firing order

If you want to spend the money on wires spend the extra and buy Taylor wires. If you dont want to spend that much go for the MSD. Between the two almost all track cars run with one of them.

Installed my magnecores with new plugs this past friday and notice the stock ones are really thin for spark plugs wires but im not an engineer so who knows...
Only thing I didnt like was there is no lip to completely cover the spark plug hole like stock it just a flat plate of rubber....
I doubt any dirt debris will get in there since the stock plug cover with the top cover should keep everything out plus I always vacume the stock plug holes before taking out anything ...
I Noticed a smoother idle, but thats probably the new plugs,I did all this change because of my new PO300 codes that have been popping up at 14000 miles ,hoping this will solve my problem as in my 2001 eclipse V6 had the same code, changed the wires and plugs, never happened again...hoping this will do the same for my evo...
Magnecores are of the highest quality, but thats only my opinion,I do hate that its about 90 bucks for 2 wires........

yes I agreed with magnecore better than stock one & $90 is already the best price because the japan one I check on the japanese webpage, most of them are over $150 in japan, so if get it to here probably more than $200 shipped
