having car issues: need help

First off. I recently figured out my car popped a p0138 (o2 sensor high voltage). I ran with it still on for about a week. Today I noticed my car was idling awkward. The RPM's would fluctuate between 1.5k-~2.2k rpm and the ARF was in the 10-11. Cruising at 55mph the afr are around 17-18 if I remember correctly. So I was thinking the rear o2 sensor is done for. Can someone tell me what's going on?

I have a TBE w/ test pipe and a UEGO fyi. I'm driving home about 430 miles tomorrow. Will I be fine until I get it fixed when I get home?

You'll be fine. I think you might need a new 02 sensor.

BTW that car ran perfectly fine until today. And I've been running with the P0138 for about a week.

I thought p0138 is the rear sensor. "o2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2 Hight Voltage"

wait i may have read it wrong...i thought you said your a/f ratio cruising was 10-11....how did you pull the code? when you scanned it, it didn't say bank 1 or bank 2??

the rear sensor will not effect the driveability of the car, it is there for emmissions purposes only, the front O2 will change how the car runs drastically if the sensor is bad

Just an update for you guys. I just went to Advanced Auto and I also have P0507: Idle Control Sys. RPM high. Is this being caused by the fluctuating idle due to the o2 sensor?

I pulled it at Advanced Auto. the 10-11 afr is at idle. And the scanner said Bank 1 Sensor 2.

Yes then your IAC valve is def bad, that is why you would be getting irradic idle

Stop freakin, if you have some higher mileage on the car replacing an IAC is not a rare accurance

I texted him and he says it's the o2 sensor. But that is there a possibility the high idle is caused by the bad o2 sensor?

Both are common issues, just going to cost you a bit of money, o2 sensor and IAC, you'll be fine as long as you can stand the idle fluctuation, it annoys the **** out of me personally
