how much can the stock clutch take?
I have a 2006 Evo 9 with roughly 35,000 miles right now. Its basically stock except a cone filter/walbro and tuned @ 21psi. I got the car dynoflash dynotuned a few months after i bought it new....probably like 3 years ago.
I'm looking into doing a Greddy Ti-C comp turbo back exhaust and a boost controller and getting retuned. Are there any other supporting mods that i would need to do?(already have the walbro fuel pump)
How much can the stock clutch take? I don't want it to slip while getting tuned
Thanks

You're pretty much already at about what the stock clutch can handle. I wouldn't give it long. You might as well start saving up for a new one. Few people that do any modding or hard driving make it past 50,000.
Get a LICP, if not a full pipe set. You can find just the lower which makes the most difference for about $150.

Everyone is different and it depends how it is driven.
The OEM clutch can handle 350 and a little past 400 awhp. It depends how it is driven which makes it go bad. Adding an exhaust and increasing hp will not necessarily cause it the start slipping.
The OEM clutch will work at those power levels however, the whole point of the clutch is to transfer the power to the ground. So the stronger the clutch the better the job it does.
I have a friend with bolt on evo with oem clutch at 75k miles. I am at 45k with bolt ons. Others see a brand new clutch go bad because how it is driven.

Get a new clutch and PP installed! You will be AMAZED at how much better it is! I'm in the same area you are HP wise and when I got mine replaced it was like a new car again! My old one was the same way as yours is now. If you think it's doing ok you would be wrong! I thought the same thing before I replaced mine also.
