A 700 hp goal ..
Hey everyone...
To cut the story short , I'm intending to build an Evo 9 which will be run mostly on pump gas ( 93 octane or so ) and it's gonna be a stroker , 2.3 or 2.4 L ( didn't decide yet ) and it's gonna be loaded with a brand new head , 280 cams , the works...
what I really didn't set my mind on yet is the turbo kit , I really wanna hit 650 to 700 awhp and I've read that some turbo kits can do that on pump gas , might use some nitrous as well , but not often ..
so if money isn't an issue , and the turbo lag can be tolerated if it'll give me the power I want but most importantly the car must be reliable enough to be used on daily bases ...
So if anyone knows which turbo kits can give me that sort of power or get me anywhere near my goal I'd appreciate if you'd tell me ....

I doubt you will get 700hp on pump gas, a more reasonable goal would be like 600-625 on pump, in that case if you wanted to build a stroker(which i would stick with a 2.0) You could get anything from a HTA86 HTA88 or PTE6765. Remember tho, with the power goals you want to acheive you are going to need a rather large turbo that is going to have some lag.

Well as for the turbo lag , I'm willing to accept it as long as I'd have as much power as possible from the turbo on pump gas... and sorry for not making this clear enough , I meant that I want a car with 700 awhp on pump gas and using a 100 shot of Nitrous oxide or so ... but when I'm off the nitrous it'd be pretty great if I could have 600 or 625 hp on pump gas..

o Well in that case I hope whoever is building your motor knows what they are doing. If you are going to spray 100shot, obviously you could use a smaller turbo and still make your goal. I would look into something like a kit with a PTE6262 billet or a HTA86 turbo kit, PM me if you would like to talk about different kits.

if you want the most usable 700hp (on race gas of coarse), go 6262.
if you want 700hp w/ a huge hit/loss at the bottom-mid, but have alot of growth for more power, go 6765.
also, they arent very big in the evo world, but a bullseye borg warner 366 would fit your ticket as well, and are decently cheap (compared to 6765 atleast)

Well there's no 100 octane here in Cairo , but that's why I may use the Nitrous shots with pump gas .... and from time to time the car will run on VP import or Q16 so to be clear I'm building a car that only needs race gas to do the 9 seconds passes , and will be used with less power of course on pump gas for daily purposes , and I don't mind the turbo lag as long as it's not a 42r lag ..

I've heard the Bulls eye BW 366 literally blows up after 40psi..... up until then however it's a beast.. then again the could be a wives tail, but i've heard that from a few gents that run them.
As for the OP question, it was already answered in the first post. for getting close to your goal you'd be looking at a 6765, or get a GT45 and have about 100rpm of power
Lag....Lag....Lag....POWA.done!
