Stroker Motor V.S Built 2.0L
Ok so iam preety much all about drag raceing and I obv want to run the best 1/4 mile time. But now at the same time I run my car 95% of the time, and I love street raceing so quick response and a good bottom end power curve with a fast spooling turbo is very important to me. With that being said I was hopeing to get some peoples imput on What everyone thinks about stroking my motor instead of a built 2.0 but I no strokers can't go as high rpms. But I hear 2.2L can still go to like 8000RPM but they have much better bottom end power curve they spoil a HTA3586R almost instintly and have a lot more Torque. Besides fixing my clutch problem because I won't have to shift as high. So I think for my needs I would like a stroked motor better and with the way my power band looks I think I would run a better 1/4 time anyway. The only downfall I may see is Does haveing a stroker put a lot more stress on the driveline to the point where stuff starts to brake from hard launchs??? is it a lot worse then a 2.0...... And will a stroker hook up worse then a bult 2.0? If it is a lot more stress on the driveline is this something I could fix by some suspension upgrades and some bushings or would a quife LSD differential and axils would be required on a 650whp stroked Evo? For what its worth my Pro Shop, Top Level Motorsports and my Tunner E-Spec ( Who prolly no more about evos then the Japanese guy that invented them) Insist I go with a built 2.0L with drop in pistons and rods I thought I would take in some wisdom from you fine gentleman before I make up my mind. So any Comments will be greatly appreciated.

If streetracing is your kick then so be it. Most people here have done it a time or two. Some stop doing it some don't. As you know many street races are not a full 1/4 mile and torque is what gets you up to speed. Horse power is the result of torque. You are looking for a better hp to tq curve then go with a 2.3. Yes your rpm's will need to be lowered. Take a page from the V-8 people "no replacement for displacement". Get a good matched turbo for it, something that will be fast responding like an FP red. Turbo choice will be your prefrence. I love mine matched with a BBK full. Look into other things as well like reducing weight.

I would say go with a 2.2L for the best compromise, or 2.3L if you mostly want better performance on the street.
Either way, worrying about what is going to put the most stress on the driveline is almost pointless because beating on the car constantly racing you are obviously going to break things. And if that's the case, go with the cheapest combination you can afford putting back together again. In other words, don't max out the credit cards getting a 2.3RR from AMS and then not being able to afford replacing your t-case the next weekend when it goes out.
