Drivetrain Whine

I am having an issue with my drivetrain whining. I have seen the videos and read through a few threads and I'm not sure if it's Transfer Case wine or my rear diff. It is a very high pitched whine. It only whines above 30mph. It whines when I accelerate but not when I decel. It sounds like it's coming from the front and rear when I drive. My transfer case was also rebuilt by shep a year ago. 03 Evo VIII with 65k miles

Assuming your shep racing tcase is good(didn't drag right)? Stop driving immediately and check fluid levels

It started making the noise slowly over a day. It's now very constant and the pitch hasn't changed anymore. I checked my rear diff, tcase, and tranny fluid. All full and good. I have NOT changed the fluid in any of them yet. I don't have any extra laying around and it takes a week or so to order it. I plan on doing it this weekend. I wasn't launching the car or driving it rough when this started to happen.

My 06 has been having the exact same issues. I had my t-case rebuilt by shep in October 2009 and about two days after install the whining started back like it did when the old
t-case went bad....

Hmm did you have it fixed again, what did it cost? I'm hoping it's not the T-Case but its a good probability.

I've had more or less this same problem, I also drive an '03 Evo VIII with over 65,000 miles and noticed the whining after taking it in for the 60,000 mile service (in which most of the fluids were replaced). When I went to pick up my car I noticed that revving the car sounded different, (throatier and deeper than before) and when I took my car back in, they told me the driveshaft was "weak" and was causing vibrations and that it eventually needs to be replaced. is there any way to fix this problem w/ out spending $2400 on a new driveshaft??

Any vibrations? Carrier bearings? Seems to be a t case though.
