Ryu's hunting for 9's on the Stock Block

530whp according to ttp this past week.
Aside from recent cryo treating yes it is.
As stated previously in this thread I always perform a boost leak test prior to tuning. The coupled was most likely weakened from over 2years of methanol use and finally gave way under the stress of 40psi+ during the tuning session.
I always go through a checklist for prep before tuning.
1. Oil change
2. Spark plug change
3. Boost leak test
4. Compression test

What happened in 2nd was it in gear already or on the shift something happened?
I ask because i thought the worst when my issue happened and it actually was just the roll pins that backed out but since it was apart we replaced a few other items

Sorry for the added down-time but you'll be back out soon i know it

Ryu did you just replace the 4th gear in your tranny or did you go for a complete rebuild? because i need to get an evo 8 4th in mine before i go to the track again i was hitting the rev limit which is about 120mph on an evo 9 fourth gear like 3/4 the way down the track and my 5th gear is ****ty if i try to shift too fast and it wouldnt go in.

I'm already making enough torque to break 2nd gear on a roll according to 94awdcoupe's findings. Cooler air would only make matters worse.

Not sure why you havent posted whats really happening here. I couldnt make the TTP tuning session but I was present for the S&R dyno runs. (dynomite, land and sea)
After 5 hours of pulls and trouble shooting trying to get boost curve where it should be it was concluded the dynomight dyno was not loading the car correctly. car left the dyno with boost hitting 41psi and falling to 34psi. but the manual controller was turned down before test spins in fear that it would boost higher one the street. The interesting left details are during tuning the boost control we accidentally saw some amazing fast torque curves.
I saw 585tq at 4100rpm on one aborted pull, and 575tq at 4000rpm on another. this dyno reads 5-10% lower than dynojets so this represents the fastest spolling torque monster I have seen to date. on stock 2.0 this is nothing short of stellar.
As we feared the boost went higher on the street so the gears did see some gear eating torque.
