Evo8 AWD system?

Evo8 AWD system?
How does the AWD system work? Is it on 4x4 all the time or is it one tire in the front drive along with the oppisite in the back, and then when slip is sensed it kicks into AWD or is it FWD then when slip detected it kicks in to AWD? There are a lot of AWD systems out there i was woundering if anyone knows for sure what type it is. I know it LSD, any experts or knolegable people can explain this?

It is full time AWD with a 50/50 distribution front to back. If slip happens at the front or back the Viscous coupling unit heats up and the "goo" inside thickens trasfering power from the slipping wheels to the ones with traction. The front diff is an open diff so if one front tire is spinning faster than the other....tough luck! In the rear diff we have a clutch pack style limited slip unit. It does the same thing as a VCU but does it better.

Actually understeer and oversteer are more a function of suspension than anything else, and the swaybars make the most difference in that area. I havn't had any problems with understeer....but I also havn't done any 10/10ths driving on a road course or autocross.
