Mobile1 5w-30 or 10w-30 in Evo...does it matter?

10w is for hotter weather... 5w is for colder weather...if you look at the boxes they have different coverage temperatures..
10w is thicker for the heat...5w isn't as thick for the cold
most people put 5w in the winter and 10w in the summer

Guys stick to 10W30 or perhaps 5W30. Don't try 10W60. That will be BAD for your motor. 60 means it's thicker, not "better".

Is it bad to mix Mobile 1 10W-30 and 5W-30? I live in So Cal weather doesn't get that cold. I want to run something thinner like 5W for better gas mileage but want the protection of 10W. What to do???

I remember an article in Car and Driver featuring a Dinan supercharged or turbocharged car and Steve Dinan said for a turbo motor he liked the thick stuff for oil. Thicker would seem to make sense for better protection, especially if you live in hotter weather.
