Buschur Racing EVO 0-60mph ...

Norwalk Raceway Park is one of the stickiest tracks there is. If you walk out on the launch surface, chances are you will get your shoes stuck. I've seen people loose flip-flops out there.

i know the race gas makes a difference, but i wanna know how the race gas cut about 2 seconds off the 0-60 time from my stage 4 buschur evo8 with twin disk clutch. my 60ft time is 1.70, but im no where near 2.x secs 0-60.
are u sure thats not ROCKET gas, and not RACE gas, dave??
.
maybe theres something wrong with my stage 4 kit, or maybe its just a bad car i have...
anyway, nice run.....

if he had rocket or race gas, he wont be doing an 11.65 quarter
he will be in the 9's with that performance
my friend richw done a proven 11.9 and an 11.8 and even he doesnt do under 3 secs 0 to 60

U gotta remember that this is on stock turbo. The power is downlow. Even if someone runs a faster quarter, they may have a much slower time to 60 because of traction and the location of power in the rpm band.

i cant believe u think this does it in 2.6 man whats the world coming to, on a stock turbo
i have 610 ft torque and 665 for now i will struggle to do 2.6 on my standard gearbox maybe between 2.7 to 2.9 same as simon yeah but i need alot of power to do that.
and theirs many with stock turbo with awesome titanium core conversions and ballbearing conversions, they dont do 2.6 and they wont the handling at the ten of the best 2
so this 0 to 60 is a lil exaggarated.

There was a head/cam Z06 at the track this weekend, the guy couldn't launch the car because it made to much power for his tires. So he let it off pretty easy and was behind 90% of the cars he raced against for the first 100 feet...but once he got into a stable rpm zone...WHAM. 12.0 -122mph. You really need slicks so be able to launch a rwd car comparibly to a EVO. Theres a video somewhere of a 2G DSM vs. a 427 vette; DSM launches and pulls the vette - then the vette flys by like a sportbike.

I think you need to back up and re-read Tym's original post. He quite clearly qualified the data and described that it came from the AEM ECU logs. He also admitted that there may be a margin of error due to the speed sensor.
If Buschur is seeing wheel spin with the output from the stock turbo, why would any Evo with more torque, all other things being equal, hook up to the tarmac more effectively and get better times?
What I suggested is that David and Tym arrange for some timing equipment at their DSM Shootout later this summer. It will dispense with the speculation once and for all. Of course it will be quite a bit hotter in August than when this "mythical" 0 to 60 time was recorded...

i dont think anyone is calling them liars, or even purposefully misleading or exagerrating.
i do however believe that some people doubt the accuracy of their data logger as far as 0-60 time is concerned. if its accurate, then thats great news to all of us, including me. if its not accurate, thats ok too cause the car still runs like a raped ape....
still a great run.....

Look, I believe Tym's EMS logs recorded that he accelerated to an indicated 60mph in 2.65 seconds. Whether or not the EMS logs are accurate can be debated ad nauseum. I also believe a sub-3 second run to completely within the realm of possibility with a competant driver. I want to see what some proper timing gear would record. Of course the conditions of that run will never be duplicated since as I understand it the car will likely never be in that state of modification or tune again.

Shiv wrote that they did a timed 0-60 mph run in 3.3 seconds. This was with a much laggier turbo (GT35R) than we did our 2.6 datalogged run in. We didn't make this number up from some seat of the pants guess, we used the speed sensor through the AEM which measure actual vehicle speed. Shiv also openly admits that he nor his driver are drag racers, this will slow down any 0-60 mph run. Tym on the other hand has ran 10.9 at only 123 mph in AWD DSM's, I think this will show how fast he can get a car to ET.
Something else to consider is that I think the car Shiv used for this test ran 11.5 at 123 mph in the 1/4, we ran an 11.65 at only 117 mph. This will also back up that our car will go from 0-60 quicker than 3.3 seconds as the 6 additional MPH their car had made up the ET on the big end of the track.
