Which Supertech dual valve springs should I get - SPR-M1007D or SPR-M1009D?

I want to upgrade my valvesprings/retainers etc on my Evo9 to more safely rev to 8500 rpm (for autox, so I can have a higher rev limit/max speed in 2nd gear).

Should I get the 1007D springs (92 or 96 lbs seat pressure @ 39.6mm, I've seen them listed both ways) or the 1009D (120 lbs seat pressure @ 39.6mm)?

The part #s of the two kits are SPRK-M1007D and SPRK-M1009D, just in case anyone else is shopping for the Supertech dual valve spring kits (which include springs, Ti retainers #RET-M65/T1, seats and valve seals #VS-H6.6 - the spring and seat part #s change depending on which kit you get).

Here are the specifics of my setup:

stock block
stock Evo9 head with Cosworth M2 cams
E85, 33 momentary peak psi (26-30 psi is the norm)
CBRD BBK Full turbo
MIL.SPEC 65mm TB
MAP V2 ported OEM IM
PPI "Extreme" ported OEM EM

Thanks in advance!

They sold me the 96 pound duals, the 120 pounders are for extreme HP apps....

Okay, thx dan628; I was hoping the M1007D was the "standard duty" dual valvesprings for milder cams... I'd rather have less tension/resistance in the head than more.

I just installed them this week, took me all week because I only did a few a day. It is very time consuming. I did it with the head on, used the spring compressor from Euro export, and filled the spark plug holes with compressed air. Let me know if you have any questions or need any help.

I'm doing a build-up that's very similar to the OP and am also curious.

Spring specifications:

Supertech SPRK-M1007D dual valvespring kit?
BTW, I recently dynoed my car with the Supertech springs installed... correction factor was 1.15, so my actual, uncorrected peak WHP is 396.35.

Gotta love the CBRD BBK full turbo for both fast spool and great numbers!

I've got a set of SPR-M1007D on the way, but without knowing what the stock springs are rated at, I have no idea if these are too aggressive for Kelford 272's or not.

Just to update this, I've been told that SPR-M1009D is discontinued if that helps.

SPR-M1007D or SPR-M1009D?

For 2.3/stroker motors: SPR-M1007D should be fine; but give strong consideration to Kigglys; GSC could make more than one type of behives so double check (be sure to have your cams specs on hand); Do the same if you are also considering FP springs.

For built 2.0 with high flow head with 272 cams or greater: SPR-M1009D is the ticket (or others with at or near the same specs).

In general confirm with manufacturers and not the salesfolks.

Thanks... what's your price range/offer on a set of used OEM Evo springs/retainers? By the way, you should get/use new valve seals... some of mine didn't look that great.
