I hate to say it but I think you are screwed. Hope someone in here will be able to help you out. If you need shop manual on the Evo, I got one but it's for the Evo 7. Engine wise, it should be the same, if not, close to the same.

there should be a mark on the block and the crank that when lined up will put the piston at tdc

if u can find the mark and bring the piston to tdc then u just line up the cam gears to tdc and install the belt

Look , it is no big deal.
Line the crank marks up, you should be able to see them. this puts the pistons at TDC. Do this before you install the head.
You cant find the ones for the cam gears is because the marks are on the valve cover. You have to put it on to line the cams up.

It will make more sense when u get the cd. Have you ever done timing belts before?

like tarmac said, since you got the head off, tdc is easy to find. just turn the crank untill the #1 piston is at the top. when you are ready to get the head on, make sure the cams are in the right position, (intake stoke vs exhaust), install cam gears and make sure the gears line up to the timing marks. the crankpulley should only be able to go on one way, so the bottom mark should line up at tdc. put all the block and timing components together and HAND CRANK the motor until all the marks line up. i like to do it twice (but i'm paranoid.) if the marks all line up, it should be good to go. if not, readjust it until it gets to where it should be. good luck!
