dont listen to this guy he is high. the fp red or fp black kills bbk numbers all day long. only reason for smaller turbo is if you want fast spool. but your going 2.3 or 2.4 so will not be a issue.you can expect 500whp with either turbo on those setups as long as you do the proper bolt ons double pumper etc. Tuning has alot to do with it. how much you looking to spend should really be the question

I am currently looking into the 4g64 as well and I understand the black would make about 40whp more than the red on pump but spool about 200 rpms slower. Depends on what you prefer would determine your choice.

Motor is out of car... cost at this point for me between red and black is fairly minor. I had an 2.0 evo 9 with AMS35r kit and would like better spool then that. But it looks like that both may spool better... no worries for the tune, its down at Sean Ivey's.

totally agree with Mike (Awd), do the black or go home.. just an expression.. that motor will seriously give you what you want on with the black.. Look at his numbers off their BBK they did with 2.4L... The black would have even better results in the long run..

Agreed on the Black on a 2.3L/2.4L. I'll eventually go the route of 2.4L myself. The only draw the Red has IMO is whether you can pick up a used one for cheap. Other than that the difference is only $50 between the 2 when brand new and as mentioned, the spool difference is negligible.
