Competition clutch requires modifying the SLAVE cylinder, not the master just like the Carbonetics.

Quartermaster has their own true hydraulic release bearing like the Tilton.
Doesn't the QM use the same bearing? I thought Tilton made the QM HRB...

Anyway, if you can afford it, try the new design Quarter Master. Coming from someone with a pull-type exedy hd....

I believe QM makes their own bearing.

I dont see how the clutch made you lose your t-case. Did you launch it and then it broke?

It's a race clutch.

10k+ miles on a race clutch is pretty good...

Anybody buying this clutch thinking it will be an inexpensive street clutch that is indestructible is wrong.

Street manners:
It chatters like a mother ****er.
It has about 1/4" of pedal travel from engaged to disengaged
It's so light that if you try to take off under 2k RPM, it's going to stall
The plates rattle when the clutch pedal is in
The TOB rattles when the clutch pedal is out
It barks, sequels, shakes, moans...pretty much every unappealing sound you can think of it makes
You KNOW when you didn't rev match a down shift

Race benefits:
It's stupid light
The discs weigh nothing so shifts are lightening quick
It takes 1/4" of pedal travel to shift
It doesn't even bat an eye at heat
It's cheap to rebuild when it wears out
It handles anything you can throw at it

That is 100% on point. I have now had 2 QM Twins. One on my galant and now one on my Evo. I would recommend that you try to find someone with a twin plate and get a ride in there car. The QM unit does not bother me at all. You just need to be ready for other people are looking at your car while at a stop light because it sounds like it is going to fall appart, and then the funny looks when your **** squeaks like a loose belt.

I have had people ask me if my car was ok before. The response is yes it is fine it just has a race clutch in it.

Both of my QM's were the 6leg not the new 8leg. When I have to do another new clutch I will buy the 8leg edition.

I have the Competition Twin and I love it. I had the old version that was a PITA to drive daily but recently had it rebuilt with the new top hat. Drives sooooo much better and holds up very well to abuse. I've launched mine numerous times and the heat never is an issue. I'm not making a lot of power but for a daily driver car that goes to the dragstrip I would recommend this clutch.

I had the Exedy twin HD and it lasted a few launches and one night at the dragstrip. Over heated and warped the discs. POS in my opinion. I'll never buy another Exedy clutch. Triple is just stupid expensive for a daily driven car. I got 25k miles out of my first Competition twin.

I drove a friends 6262(650whp) with an Exedy Triple. Feels like stock and shifts @ 8.5-9k all day.
Yeah it's expensive though. Easily the best clutch I've driven on an EVO.

I had a CC twin in my DD car for around 6 months. Didn't like it, decel growl was most annoying, some chatter also.

Yeah the old version Comp Twin had it's downfalls. Loud decel noises, chatter, off/on engagement, etc. New one is much better though. And the price is very fair compared to Exedy and most other twins.
